i am so delighted to read this piece of news, Obama says iPads, iPhones and XBoxes are making information "becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment, rather than the means of emancipation".
emancipation... what a strong word.. having experience living and suffering in that society, i can fully understand how much racial discrimination hurt a person, and the hurt can last forever. however, President Obama, you are the President of the United States, if you believe justice can be served by giving the African Americans, or other minority races, the emancipation should not be laid on asking your people to absorb "proper information", the process should be initiated and pushed by YOU. you lead the government of your country, and there are endless of opportunities for you to exercise your power by enacting executive initiatives to make the minorities live better. changes can be subtle and gradual, but it has to start somewhere. unfortunately, you did very little on this regard. we thought you can, but "no, you can't".
if i have learned something in my life, it would be that blaming others for the problem does not lead to a solution. obama certainly believes otherwise
but at least you blame the right people! blaming apple and microsoft for making information useless? iphones and ipads are making people having channels to access to information anytime we want. 10 years ago we can never imagined. so the channel of getting information is there, but why people always getting "wrong" information? would that because the so-called "wrong information" is more enticing?
is it the fault of apple or microsoft? come on man, blame the right people!!
and not to mention that jobs and gates are the very few americans who can make products that people will buy!
